ACT FOR CHANGE is a charity registered charity No 1119291. We work with children and young people who are at risk of, or who are already, involved with the criminal justice system, providing them with psychological counselling services and offering them a developmental and systemic change approach.

Our organisation has an excellent track record in Bexley with high rates of engagement (70%). We have a level 1 Certification of our Evaluation Plan with Project Oracle and this year we aim to get level 2 certification.

We wish to recruit 5 trainees to join our team

You would need to be able to make a commitment to AFC and devote half a day a week (afternoon or evening) and some additional time for induction and weekly group supervision with a BACP registered and senior family and play therapist. We expect trainees to commit to 8 months to one year. We reimburse trainees’ travel and offer a small honorarium.

You will have an ability to relate and engage with young people and a keen desire to hone your skills. Ideally, trainees will have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• working with children and young people

• an interest in developing skills in working with trauma and with challenges in social communication and to hone your systemic awareness

• An ability to communicate with social workers, caseworkers, parents and maintain up-to-date records

We are particularly keen to recruit male trainees from diverse backgrounds to reflect the young people we engage with. We welcome applications from all sections of the community as we expand our service.

We are looking to recruit up to 5 trainees. Complete the Application Form by the 15th April 2017 For further information about the application process, click here. For an informal discussion, contact the team Supervisor, Simon Dermody on 07515 399932. For an insight into our work, see our website:
